Big Sunday

Listening to people helping others.

The Hope Chronicles has been very lucky to have a great partnership with Big Sunday, a Los Angeles non-profit that builds community through community service. Each year, they organize the largest volunteer day-of-service in America that mobilizes more than 50,000 people of all ages and backgrounds to complete hundreds of service projects all over California. In addition, they have a full slate of community events throughout the year that help meet the needs of Los Angeles.

Over the years, we have sent Community Listeners to many of their events to listen to hopes of people who are giving back to their community. And each time, our Listeners have said that they were blown away by watching and listening to people serve their neighbors in ways that they couldn’t even imagine. Nothing helps you understand compassion better than spending time focusing on people doing good. Plus, they got to meet some wonderful people – including one of the creators of the TV show, Friends!

Check out all of the stories and hopes we’ve heard through Big Sunday, and visit the Big Sunday YouTube Channel to see even more!

I learned that this one question: “What is your hope?” is a way to open a door. Real conversations begin, where they can also begin for you.
