Big Sunday
Started more than a decade ago at Temple Israel of Hollywood, Big Sunday has grown to become the largest regional community service event in the nation with a mission to build community through community service. Their volunteers come from all kinds of neighborhoods, and work in all sorts of neighborhoods, too. Big Sunday’s belief is that everyone has some way that they can help somebody else.
EngAGE
An award-winning nonprofit dedicated to promoting successful aging, healthy communities and awareness by keeping seniors actively engaged in life, physically and mentally healthy, reinvigorated with a sense of purpose, and given the opportunity to act as sages and mentors to our younger generations. EngAGE also produces a weekly radio show, Experience Talks, which reaches 250,000 listeners and highlights the lives and stories of Boomers and beyond.
Sanctuary Collective
An organization that inspires, empowers, and supports young LGBTQ people and allies as they live and organize for justice in Christian Communities by training them and connecting them with a supportive collective of people.
VOALA | Storywork
Volunteers of America Greater Los Angeles has made oral history and story a mission as story is a powerful tool in honoring, healing and transforming human life. Storywork is a process for people to discover and learn how story plays a central role in their shaping their own lives. It is also a rich opportunity for people and communities to liberate and re-connect themselves to the truthful, positive stories that transform, empower and uplift life.
